Blog: California, here we come!
Hurray, hurray; Game Thingie will be attending the E3 this year in LA!
This will not only be my first E3, but my first time in America as well. So do forgive me for obsessively playing “California, here we come”, picking out bathing suits for the many pools (because Los Angeles is ALL pools, right?) and practicing smuggling in an American accent in my mostly British pronunciation.
I will be attending E3 for 2 other outlets (besides Game Thingie, of course!). The first is the British game website Critical Gamer, for whom I have been writing since the end of last year. Several of the other editors will be attending E3 as well, which will be a good time to meet up and have a beer. Or more. You know how it goes at E3 party’s (people keep telling me).
Besides that, I will be writing for Pakistan’s first (!) and only (!) gamer’s magazine; Game Mode Magazine. I wrote two articles for their third issue (an interview with Don Daglow and the article ‘ Playing Together‘) and later offered to attend E3 in their name to write their very first E3 Special. They happily accepted, making me even more excited. Although writing the entire E3 Special for a printed magazine is a lot of work and responsibility, it is even more awesome. It is simply unneccessary to describe it in an intelligently formulated way; it’s just awesome.
So I’ve spent the last few weeks trying to book appointsments and I’m getting more and more excited about it. I’ve booked some very cool appointments with big publishers and developers, of course not skipping the smaller ones, and have already scheduled several interviews that will most likely prove to be very interesting. I already collected several invitations to attend press conferences and my very first E3 party’s.
This year, being our very first year at E3, I’ve decided to record more of my E3 experiences than just the visits with the publishers and developers. I want to show you everything that a trip to E3 entails; from the horrible 14 hour plane trip, to the dirty hotels (fingers crossed it’s not dirty at all), to the late days of hard work and high heels. And of course; the games, the glory, the magic, the party’s.
See you in LA, or watch us go to LA on Game Thingie ![]()

Awesome! Look forward to GT’s reports. So curious about E3
I’ve enjoyed Game Thingie’s postings till now and am very curious about E3 itself, and what we will read about it here
Question: do you plan to record any video during E3?

We are planning to shoot some video’s, not sure what format yet, but you can definitely expect some E3 video coverage
I was supposed to be going to this with some of the guys from CG but had to focus on my other business this year as it’s just a brand new wee baby business and couldn’t possibly look after itself if I left! Although I will be covering the Eurogamer expo again down in London soon, I think I’ll only manage one day of it.
So many events, so little time. Have fun over there Snezana!
